Sigurdskvadet

(Song of Sigurd)

Sit right down and I will tell you of the dragon slayer,

Sigurd Sigmundson rode out to take the dragon’s lair!

Sigurd he conquered the dragon,

Sigurd he whupped the dragon and he took his treasure!

A mighty swing and a womp for good measure!

Sigurd rode to Glitter Mountain spoiling for a fight,

Tall he sat on Grane’s back, his sword long, sharp and bright!

Sigurd he conquered the dragon (Chorus)

The dragon lay upon his gold, belching steam and fire,

Sigurd struck him such a blow that all the folk admire!

Sigurd he conquered the dragon (Chorus)

The dragon roared a fearful roar before he lost his head,

Grane brought the treasure home to prove that he was dead!

Sigurd he conquered the dragon (Chorus)
